Perfect substitute for a glass of wine!

The new San Pellegrino Lemon & Lemon Zest flavour has an intense citrus aroma and goes well with seafood, green veggies, and most types of fruit. I’ve tried it with grilled salmon and asparagus, and its citrusy scent complemented the dish perfectly. The flavour isn’t overpowering, in fact you can hardly taste it as it has zero sugar (or calories). For me, it’s an alternative to an alcoholic beverage that I’d normally have with my dinner (in this case, it would be a glass of white wine), which works well during Sober October!

JABRA 45h Wireless Bluetooth Headphones

The headphones arrived in their box and they were fully charged. After unboxing, I was surprised how small they were, especially the cups. When I tried them on, they fit comfortably around my ears thanks to memory foam cushions and I noticed how light they are. Upon first use, I was surprised by the high quality as I expected them to be designed for online meetings and video calls. These turned out to be perfect for listening to music due to their top sound quality and noise blocking features. They come with an app that lets you adjust many useful features, including noise cancelling and sound equaliser. The Jabra Sound+ app is key to make the most out of these headphones. Some functions need to be enabled and others adjusted for the best performance. Regarding battery life, they boast of 50 hours of active use, which is astonishing considering their weight. I haven’t pushed them to their limits yet but they hold their battery well for the full working week, only needing to charge over weekend. Their microphone picks up my voice perfectly, even though it’s placed away from my mouth. The control buttons are intuitive but at times it’s easy to press the wrong button.

Overall, these are by far the best Bluetooth headphones I've ever tried thanks to their fit, functionality and noise cancellation. If your work environment is noisy and distracting when you need to focus, these are a godsend. Otherwise, they would also suit music fans out there. Highly recommended!

New laptop alert: HP ENVY 13-ba0505sa

Since I'm having to bring my laptop to and from work, I decided to opt for a more portable and mobile device. This laptop is light and very compact which makes it fit in your bag and it's easy to carry. Another important aspect is its battery life. On one occasion, the battery lasted nearly 8 hours and to recharge it to full, it only takes 45 minutes. This is the fastest I've ever seen on a laptop. Paired with a bright, colourful display and loud speakers, it makes for a great after work entertainment. One surprising aspect for me was touch screen was can be handy with certain apps. Let's not forget about the 10th generation Intel i5 processor under the hood that greatly contributes to smooth switching between several tasks and open apps with processes running in the background. I would highly recommend it if you're looking for a solid mid ranger. It looks stylish and feels reliable, probably due to its battery life and the quick charge option. Excellent all-rounder!

Homemade keto-friendly Quest bars with VitaFiber recipe (IMO90 - isomalto-oligo-saccharide)

An easy recipe for home made Quest style bars:

- 50g VitaFiber (liquid) or IMO (powder)
NB: If using the powder, you need to dissolve it in 4:1 ratio to water, i.e. 40g powder + 10g water
20g whey protein (your chosen flavour)
- anything that you want to add (crushed Oreo's, ground almonds, bits of chocolate etc.)

1. Heat VitaFiber (or IMO mixture) in a pan (or a bowl in a microwave) until it starts to bubble.
2. Add all ingredients and mix them together until they reach peanut butter like consistency.
3. Using a silicone mould or a baking paper shape it into a bar.
4. Put it in the freezer for 1-2 hours.
5. Enjoy!

P.S. VitaFiber or IMO can be purchased from MuscleFood, MyProtein and BulkPowders:

Gillette Labs Heated Razor

#ad I've recently been gifted the new Gillette Labs Heated Razor.

Once the product arrived, it was beautifully packaged. I felt very excited when unboxing this shaver as I’d never used a heated razor before. Upon the first use, I was amazed how quickly the razor heats up. It took literally 4-5 seconds! Initially, the shaving process felt strange. But then I noticed how smoothly it was gliding on my skin, which wasn’t getting irritated as it often does. Compared with my regular high end razor, I have to say, this felt much better and the shaver was easy to control and perfectly weighted.  After the shave, my skin felt smooth and wasn’t irritated. No need for an aftershave balm!

In addition to the razor, there is a magnetic charger which looks stylish and serves a great place to keep the razor when not in use. I’m not quite sure how long the razor lasts but the replacement heads seem rather pricey.

I’d certainly recommend this shaver if the quality of your shaving experience is important to you. Otherwise, they might be some cheaper equivalents of a comparable quality.

Reliable and stylish KitchenAid K400 Artisan

I received the new KitchenAid K400 Artisan blender courtesy of trnd UK. Before I opened the box, I was excited as it looked a high quality product judging from the box. Upon its first use, the blender seemed sturdy and powerful. Contents didn't leak and the containers was very easy to wash. I mostly use it for blending fruit or vegetables and after 2 weeks of regular use it hasn't leaked once. If you're fed up of unreliable, cheap blenders, this one is for you. Highly recommended!
